Meeting of Lorestan University's Board of Directors with the Presence of the Deputy Minister of Technology of the Ministry of Science/ The Activity Model of Growth Centers Should be Designed in Accordance with the Needs of Each Province

The Deputy Minister of Science, Research and Technology for Technology and Innovation stated in a meeting of the Lorestan University Board of Directors: "The operational model of university growth centers should be designed in accordance with the conditions and needs of each province."

According to the Public Relations of Lorestan University, Dr. Mohammadnabi Shahiki, in this meeting, which was held on Sunday, September 13th, in the meeting hall of the Lorestan University Presidency, stated: "It is not possible to write a single model for all provinces and universities in the country regarding the activities of growth centers. Each university should design and implement a specific and appropriate model based on the specific conditions of its province."

He continued: "Student skills training should be directly linked to the real needs of the job market, and university growth centers play a key role in this process; the output of these centers should be effective technological cores that connect knowledge and industry."

The Link between Growth Centers and Science and Technology Parks

The Deputy Minister of Science and Technology added: "Growth centers and science and technology parks are two interconnected parts and should complement each other; the prosperity of these centers will be achieved when there is a sustainable interaction between them."

He also considered one of the requirements for moving towards third and fourth generation universities to be "strengthening university growth centers and creating an innovation ecosystem" and emphasized the need to create and strengthen empowerment and mentoring networks in universities {technology guidance}.

The Importance of Dedicated Revenue Generation for Universities

In the continuation of the meeting, Dr. Mehdi Ghasemi Aliabadi, the advisor to the Minister of Science in the field of higher education economics, emphasized the need for university managers to pay attention to the legal capacities of dedicated revenue generation and said: "The issue of energy conservation and the use of Article 13 of the Law on the Leap in the Production of Knowledge-Based Products is one of the important ways to increase the dedicated revenue generation of universities."

Lorestan University and "New Energies"

Also, Dr. Hossein Hatami, Vice President for Research and Technology of Lorestan University, and Dr. Mohammad Jafari, Director of the University's Growth Center, presented a report on the university's technological activities.

Dr. Jafari, in this meeting, called for the establishment of a specialized energy center at Lorestan University and proposed that this university be introduced as a scientific pilot in the field of energy.

He explained: "The Lorestan University Growth Center is trying to institutionalize the discourse of new energies in the province, and in this regard, six specialized working groups have been formed; however, we need more infrastructural support to develop activities."

Signing of a Practical Memorandum of Understanding

The meeting concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between Lorestan University and the province's Science and Technology Park.

This memorandum of understanding was signed by Dr. Mehrdad Dadestani, President of Lorestan University, and Dr. Mahmoudreza Shakerami, President of Lorestan Science and Technology Park, to further expand the grounds for joint cooperation in the fields of innovation and technology.
